Every season has a holiday or two that we celebrate. They are all significant in some way but there is none that is more significant than Earth Day. With the growing Eco concerns and health concerns in the world this holiday is no longer just for those who are the watchdogs of societies behavior patterns. It is for everyone who wants the world to prosper not only now for the current inhabitants of the world but for many future generations. So how can you help as you celebrate Earth Day? Refer to Nursery Rhymes and Childhood Games. They just might have a few timely tips hidden in them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Mary Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow, with silver bells and cockle shells and composted fertilizer you've provided from your own reusable disposables. Start composting for spring and summer fertilizing needs. You reduce landfill waste and have an economical excellent supply of fertilizer.

  2. Step 2

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over the candlestick - making sure of course that the candles have lead free wicks that do not create dangerous air pollution.

  3. Step 3

To market to market to buy - whatever we need. Use reusable bags if you're going shopping, shopping from A to Z. They are available in so many places now and they are relatively inexpensive. At the very least, be sure you recycle your bags if you are not using reusable bags.

  4. Step 4

Play farmer in the dell, the farmer in the dell, high-ho the derry-o, the farmer in the dell. Plant something. Plant a tree. Plant some vegetables or flowers. Add a houseplant or two to your indoor environment. They help clean and recirculate the air we breath.

  5. Step 5

Be aware. Look at the stars and be grateful you can see them. Take in the beauty of a perfect rose and be comforted by the fact that the air is not so full of stench that you cannot smell the scent of the rose. Turn on your tap and be aware of how lucky we are that the water is not so contaminated that you cannot drink it.

Do all that you can to help at least to keep it that way or better yet to make it better. Celebrate Earth Day, but do not only commemorate Mother Earth, commemorate Mother Nature and care for her and respect her as well. Happy Earth Day!

Tips & Warnings
  • A final note to ponder. "We are the World." But the world does not stand still. It is continuously evolving and revolving. How we behave and how we treat our environment will have positive or negative effects on what the World will evolve into as it revolves.
