Step 1
Impure SilverThere is a very simple way to clean silver jewelry and utensils. First let's understand what is real silver. Sterling silver is not 100% silver. Sterling silver is made of silver and other metals. After a while, sterling silver or impure silver takes some other color. Depending on the add metal, jewelry and utensils become red, yellow, copper or green.
-
Step 2
Here, I would like to talk about how to clean only pure silver jewelry and utensils. It is very hard to clean impure silver because red/yellow/copper/green color is because of other metals mixed with silver. If you have pure silver then you do not have buy any special things from market or jewelry shop and you do not have to go to any professional jewelry cleaner.
-
Step 3
Pure SilverPure silver is like a white cloth. It becomes black because of pollution and direct touch of your skin. If you perspire a lot, there is more chances that your silver jewelry becomes black. Do not be afraid of black color. Black color is a proof of purity of silver. Remember, pure silver becomes black, it doesn't become red/yellow/green/copper.

Step 4
Clean Silver JewelryTake colgate tooth paste and put it on your jewelry. Clean your silver jewelry and utensils with fingers first. You can mix a few drops of water with tooth paste also. Black color will start come out. To clean it more, you can use a smooth tooth brush also.
