Things You'll Need:
- 1-1/3 cup shea butter
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp vitamin e
- Medium saucepan
- Container to store end product
-
Step 1
You should be able to locate the ingredients for homemade body butter in your local health food store. There are also a plethora of websites that sells these items as well.
-
Step 2
In the saucepan, heat the shea butter over a low heat until it reaches liquid form. Do not let the shea butter heat up too fast. Once liquid form is achieved, remove the saucepan from the heat.
-
Step 3
Add the olive oil to the shea butter and allow the mixture to cool in the saucepan for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, add the vitamin e.
-
Step 4
Using a hand-held mixer, whip the ingredients until it has a very light texture. Transfer the final product to a storage container of your choice, being sure not to over pack or the mixture will lose it's light texture.
-
Step 5
Body butter can be applied directly to the skin.
