Despite the fact that TDCJ is so large, a Texas inmate search is probably much easier than you think. Follow these instructions in order to find an incarcerated person in Texas.

Point your browser to the TDCJ website and look at the homepage for the link that reads "GENERAL INFORMATION." Let your cursor rest on the link until a drop down menu appears. Within a matter of seconds a link will appear from the drop down menu that reads "OFFENDER INFORMATION." This link will take you to another page.

*You can access the TDCJ website by clicking the live link below this article in the resources section.

A link will appear that reads "ONLINE OFFENDER SEARCH." Click the link and you will be taken to another page. Sit on that page and wait to be redirected to the Texas prison inmate search page. It may take a while for the page to appear, so remain patient while it loads.

Eventually, the Texas offender information search page will appear. From this page you will need to enter the inmate's name, race, and sex in the proper fields. If you do not have the SID or TDCJ number you can still complete your Texas inmate search without them.
