If you want to send an email to someone and you don't have their email address, there are a few methods for getting someone's email address for free. These range from the quick and simple to longer and drawn out methods, but if you really need to get an email address, it'll be worth it in the end.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use email-specific search engines. There are certain search engines designed to find people and some designed just to find email addresses. Two of these are people.yahoo.com and emailfinder.com (see Resources below). If you can't find an address in any of these websites, try using regular search engines such as Google or Yahoo! and search using the person's name in quotes. You may find lots of information about the person this way, as well as their email address.

  2. Step 2

Be a detective and use deductive reasoning. If you know person "A" works at company "B," try using the person's first name, then a period, then their last name followed by the "at" symbol, then the company name and add ".com." You can try this several different ways, but you will likely wind up emailing the wrong person or getting a lot of bounces.

  3. Step 3

Try using the information you have. If you know where a person works, look for a Web page at the company with an email directory. If you know the person's hobby, look for their information on websites or discussion boards related to the hobby. Another good source is to look at social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. You can sign up for an account and then look for friends and add them. If you find the person you want and add them as a friend, you will have access to their email address (see Resources below).
