Emergency situations within a family can be tramautic and can effect people in different ways. Of course, once in a while problems arise and we just have to deal with it. However, there are ways you can prepare yourself ahead of time just in case a family emergency does arise.

For example, what if you receive a call that there has been an accident or a family member may be having a heart attack etc. Therefore, it is critical you make preparations in advance. First, you need to compile a listing of emergency numbers and place it on a refrigerator so it is easy to find. Your list of numbers can include police, fire department, school numbers as well as family members and friends. If you have children, make sure they know where these numbers are. Second, if one of the kids was severely cut and bleeding you need to clean the wound and apply pressure on the area until the blood clots and stops bleeding. Every family should have at least one first aid kit. In addition, every home should have at least two smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer, you cant smell the toxic fumes and they can make you ill, even cause death.

  3. Step 3
    Patrol Car.

It would be a wise choice to give a spare key to your home to one of the neighbors on the street. A spare key comes in handy if you lose yours and a local neighbor will have a spare fro you to access your home. You should also have an adult that you can trust to watch your children in case you have to run out in a hurry. It is important not to panic in an emergency situation, it may be difficult but you need to make the effort. Remember safety first!!
