May is right around the corner and high school graduates will soon be celebrating their liberation from school! This is a mile stone in their lives and they should be rewarded appropriately. What to do when several close family members are graduating together? Plan a joint party that makes life easy on the friends and families. Expenses can be shared keeping costs low for everyone.

In these times of economic hardship planning a joint party just makes good sense.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Home or banquet room large enough to accommodate everyone.
  • Party planning team
  • Table for each graduate
  • Individualized decorations
  1. Step 1

Family members should join forces and create a planning team or committee for your GRADUATION PARTY to keep everything organized. Set a budget for the event. One person should keep a record of expenses as well as which items will be paid for jointly and separately. This is very important so there will be no problems later. Make sure everything is transparent and everyone knows exactly what is planned and what they are expected to pay for.

  2. Step 2

Each GRADUATE should have a separate table in a large enough area where their friends will be able to gather comfortably. Be creative with the decorations. Each graduate will have their own food, cake, drinks, personal mementos and other sentimental items.

  3. Step 3

Decide whether or not there will be entertainment such as a band or DJ to introduce the music. Plan for this expense when you set your budget for the event.

  4. Step 4

Good planning will ensure that your GRADUATION PARTY is a wild success! If possible have someone other than the parents involved in the planning and on site to keep things running smooth during the event. This will give the parents as well as the students the opportunity to bask in the moment.

Tips & Warnings
  • Create a planning committee or team
  • Set a budget
  • Make sure everyone agrees on the decorations, entertainment, food, tables, and other decisions regarding the party
  • Appoint someone to organize the event the day of the party to make sure everything happens according to plan
  • Have a great time!
