Travel in Texas

Texas is a great state to travel across. There are many tourist attractions, state parks, historical landmarks, and lots of good southern cooked food to try! There are certain places in Texas that are an absolute must when deciding which Texas destinations to visit.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Travel through Texas during the months of March and April to experience the bright blue color of the state flower that blooms all along the highways of Texas. The Texas bluebonnet is one of the icons of Texas and it is considered absolutely unacceptable to pick a bluebonnet in Texas so watch out!.

  2. Step 2

Big Bend is one of the best parks to visit in Texas because of the unique hiking trails and diverse landscape. This area of Texas is best appreciated by hikers and outdoor lovers.

  3. Step 3

Bandera, Texas is considered a rodeo capitol of the world to some. It is located in west Texas and has many dude ranches, trail riding businesses, rodeos, and other great activities that involve horses.

  4. Step 4

BBQ, steak, Tex-mex, and hamburgers are a huge part of Texas culture. With a wonderful mix of Mexican and Texas culture, Texas has some of the best food in the United States. It is absolutely necessary for visitors to Texas to taste the four foods mentioned above. As you travel through this wonderfully diverse state make sure to ask the locals where you should eat at for certain food items. For example, where's the best place to get BBQ brisket around here?

  5. Step 5

When traveling in Texas, bring a jacket and a pair of pants no matter who hot you think it will be. It is always safer to bring these items because depending on when you travel and where in Texas you travel...night time is an entirely different ball game when it comes to day time temperatures. In the middle of the state where there is little humidity and the air is dry...it can get very cold late at night and early in the morning. So bring a jacket!!!

  6. Step 6

If you are visiting Texas it is a requirement to tour the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. The Alamo is one of the important historical landmarks in the entire state of Texas. While your in San Antonio don't forget to take a stroll down the river walk and eat and the restaurant on the edge of the river.

  7. Step 7

Travel down to New Braunfels, Texas and visit the largest water park in the world or float down the Guadalupe river in an inner-tube. Don't forget to eat at the Grismill restaurant located right on the Guadalupe river.
