Ever had to deal with not being able to wear a beautiful piece of jewelry because you are allergic to the pendant? These simple steps will allow you to wear your necklace without worrying about adverse effects.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Jewelry
  • Cotton Ball
  • Water
  • Clear Nail Polish
  1. Step 1

Prep your jewelry by wetting a cotton ball and cleaning the back of the pendant. Cleaning the jewelry will make the nail polish adhere to it better, and also prevent dirt from getting trapped in it.

  2. Step 2

After the pendant has dried, gently coat the back of it with a thin layer of clear nail polish. This will protect your skin from the material that is causing the allergic reaction. The other benefit is that this will prevent discoloration of the jewelry or any coatings from flaking off.

  3. Step 3

Allow to dry for at least 15 minutes before wearing. After time, the nail polish may wear off so you may wish to re-coat it. Clear nail polish works well, be sure not to apply it too thickly.
