Spring into spring cleaning!

Nothing is like the fresh smell of Springtime! You want to get out and enjoy the wonderful, crisp air and take in all of the greenery surrounding you. For many people, this time of year is a great time to do some Spring cleaning. When you decide it is time to get into cleaning mode, be sure that you remember to get your kitchen good and ready for Spring!

After all, for a lot of people, their kitchen is the gathering place of their homes. Sprucing up your kitchen to embrace the Spring season will give all of your friends and family a lovely place to enjoy good food and great memories.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleaning supplies
  • Festive spring decor to add to your kitchen
  • New serve ware or kitchen gadgets
  • Fresh fruit or flowers!
  1. Step 1

Take some time to look around your kitchen and try to figure out what can stay or what items may be able to get packed away. Perhaps you have a fondue set, crock pot or other more seasonal items that you could box up and stow away until colder weather comes back again. Weeding through your kitchen gadgets will help to reduce clutter and maybe even inspire you for some Springtime cooking adventures!

  2. Step 2
A little bit of elbow grease goes a long way!

Gather up your cleaning products and be sure to give your kitchen a new lease on life by cutting out the dirt and grime that may have accumulated during the winter months. Clean out that toaster full of crumbs and be sure to give your coffee pot a good washing and ready to help you make iced coffee to enjoy during the warm weather! -This is also a great opportunity to use natural, citrus scented cleaners that will both help you get your kitchen spotless and freshen it up with a lovely scent!

  3. Step 3

Finally, organize your kitchen in a way that is clutter free and inviting. Make space to create delicious Spring inspired treats for all of the barbecues or gatherings you will be attending. This is also the perfect time to place a bowl of seasonal fruit or fresh, beautiful Spring flowers in your favorite vase on your kitchen counter!

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep it light, freshening up your kitchen for Spring can be a fun and rewarding task.
  • If you have children, get them involved and you will be amazed at the Spring inspired ideas that they will come up with.
  • Be warned that Spring inspired cleaning may be addictive and cause you to go on to clean the other rooms within your home!

on 11/9/2009 I actually like spring cleaning. I know, I know... sick right?? I think it is more the accomplished feeling I get afterwards and I love things all cleaned and organized. I spring clean with every season!! As for kitchen gadgets... I have a section of my cabinets that is just for those. I use all mine year round but I hate having them just set on the counter. They are out of eye sight yet easily accessible!!
