Quinoa (pronounced kee nwa) is a seed that you cook like a grain and can use in any way that you use rice. Unlike any other seed or grain, quinoa is a complete protein! Making quinoa on the stovetop can be hard. There are too many variables and if you cook it too long the whole pot is ruined! I use a rice maker to cook my quinoa with great results. Instructions

    • 1

Wash the quinoa before cooking. Place it in a bowl and cover with water. Drain into a strainer. Do this three times to make sure it is clean.

    • 2

Place the quinoa in the rice maker with water. The water should be one and half times the amount of quinoa. For example: for one cup of quinoa you should add one and a half cups of water.

    • 3

Turn on the rice maker and wait for it to cook. It should take around 20 minutes, depending on how much you make at a time.

    • 4

For fluffier quinoa, place a towel over the rice maker and under the lid after it is done cooking. Let it set for five minutes.
