Things You'll Need:
- Heavy duty hooks
- Cord covers
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Screws
- Ladder
-
Step 1
Install a heavy duty chandelier hook in the location you'd like the chandelier to hang. Take into account the location of the center of the room, and any furniture you may want the chandelier to overhang. When purchasing the hook, check the weight limit to make sure it can support the weight of your chandelier. Hold the hook up on the ceiling in the location you prefer and mark the screw holes with a pencil.
-
Step 2
Drill holes to attach your chandelier hook. Attach the chandelier hook with screws. Make sure the chandelier hook is flush with the ceiling.
-
Step 3
Hang the chandelier and drape the cord to the wall. Depending on the location, you may want to drape the cord across the ceiling until you reach the wall. To drape the cord, install a series of smaller hooks until your cord reaches the wall.
-
Step 4
Use cord covers to hide and attach the cord to the wall down to the outlet where it plugs in. You can also use cord covers if you prefer to not drape the cord along the ceiling. Simply attach the cord cover, adhere it to the ceiling and run it down the wall to the electrical outlet.
