Setting Up Your Pedals

Supply your pedals with some power. Either use 9-volt batteries, an A/C adapter or invest in a pedal board. A pedal board will keep your pedals in order and simplify future set-ups.

Connect your guitar, pedal and amps together. Connect an instrument cable to your guitar and the pedal's "in" jack. Connect another instrument cable to the "out" jack and the input on your amplifier. If you have more than one pedal, simply link them with a small patch cable leaving the "out" jack of one and inserting it into the "in" jack of the next one.

Turn on your amplifier. For best results, use the clean channel of your amplifier and let the pedal do the work. Stomp on the pedal to turn it on. Adjust the settings on the pedal while you are playing the guitar until you get the desired sound.
