Acai is a berry found on the Amazon palm tree. It is rich in omega fats that are powerful antioxidants. Omega 9 fats are only found in a few fruits, one being the acai berry. This is the same heart-healthy omega that's found in olive oil. To properly care for an Amazon palm, you'll need to trim the tree. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Ladder
  • Gloves

Instructions

    • 1

      Set up a tall ladder that will reach the leaves of your Amazon palm tree. Remove old and dead leaves and growth from the palm tree with a chainsaw.

      Remove fruit and flower stalks with a sharp razor knife. Clean off excess growth on the trunk with the knife.

      Leave plenty of healthy leaves to provide the palm with proper nutrients.

      Trim each leaf to within 3 inches of the tree's trunk.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't remove the last three to seven leaves on the top of the tree.

  • Never cut off the entire top of an Amazon palm tree, or it will die. Prune as little of the palm tree as possible for productive growth.
