Give your street rod attitude with pinstripes. The key is to outline the area so that no matter how unsteady your hand, the paint will stay confined to the pinstripe. Repeat the process as many times as you like to add multiple pinstripes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape
  • Automotive spray paint
  1. Step 1

Determine how wide you want your pinstripes. Run two parallel, unbroken strips of painter's or masking tape down each side of your car. The strips of tape should be as far apart as the width of the pinstripe.

  2. Step 2

Add more tape, or secure plastic sheeting, to cover at least 3 inches on either side of the stripe's border.

  3. Step 3

Apply automotive spray paint in a smooth, even motion. The tape will keep the paint contained in a neat line on the vehicle.

  4. Step 4

Blot extra paint with a rag before it drips down the side of your car.

  5. Step 5

Wait at least 1/2 hour for the paint to dry. Remove the tape and plastic sheeting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear a painter's mask when working with paint.
