Connect a Pocket PC Using Wi-Fi

Take advantage of broadband speed at Wi-Fi hotspots or in your home network by setting up Wi-Fi on your pocket PC. You'll want to have your network key on hand if you intend on connecting to a secure network. It's simple to connect to Wi-Fi on your pocket PC.

Things You'll Need:

  • Network Key

    Home Network

  1. Step 1

    Tap "Start" in the Windows Mobile on your pocket PC and then select "Programs."

  2. Step 2

    Tap "CommManager." Start the Wi-Fi by tapping its icon. Tap the heading labeled "Settings," and then select "Wi-Fi Settings."

  3. Step 3

    Select "Network Connections" located at the bottom left corner of the screen. The icon is a graphic of a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).

  4. Step 4

    Click the heading labeled "Add New." Enter the name of your network into the box labeled "Network Name."

  5. Step 5

    Click the "Network Key" tab, located at the bottom of the screen. Choose your network's authentication method. If your connection doesn't require a password, choose "Open," and if it does, choose your authentication method.

  6. Step 6

    Enter your network key into the field labeled "Network Key," and exit.
