Take a shower and wash those troubled areas daily. While this may seem like a standard practice for most people, keeping yourself clean is one of the most effective techniques of preventing and ridding yourself of acne's painful bumps.

Change to an antibacterial cleanser. A number of the soaps on the market today simply irritate acne, which can only serve to exacerbate the problem. If you're currently experience a breakout, use an antibacterial cleanser that can gently clean not just the face, but any area of the body where acne is present.
