Have a teenage or preteen birthday blast with streamers hung with small photos printed out from celebrity websites, or stickers from the party store. For instance, you can buy High School Musical gang stickers with the faces of the cast that can be applied to crepe paper streamers, taped to the wall and dangled vertically.

Shower the bride before the wedding with streamers made from flowers and ribbons. Be sure to use her chosen wedding colors, and buy wide ribbon that coordinates. You can use real flowers with stems removed. Pull a thread through each flower under the blossom to connect them like a Hawaiian lei, with about a half inch between them. Then cut a length of ribbon longer than the flower streamer and wind it in front of the threads between the flowers and in back of the blossoms. You can secure the flowers to the ribbon with thread or a little hot glue. Refrigerate flower streamers until right before the party. You can also use silk flowers, in which case you can glue them to the long ribbons.

Buy big cardboard letters and numbers and sew them to ribbon, or glue them to crepe paper. Spell out "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" or "Lordy, Lordy look who's forty" or just use numbers for the age of the birthday person. For middle age and older, use black crepe paper streamers and festoon them with big numbers for the age, and even old age props like spectacles and canes.

Hang your streamer decorations in different ways. For instance, have streamers dangling from the ceiling or chandelier over the serving table. Use them like garlands on the staircase. Loop them from one side of the curtain rod to the other, or from one side of the fireplace mantel to the other. You can even make mini-streamers with special ornaments and drape them over lampshades. Your streamer decorations will add a festive feel to the decor and cause a lot of comments.
