How to Treat Thrush Symptons in Children

Instructions

    • 1

If your child has a diaper rash from thrush, make sure to change the diaper frequently and keep genitalia dry. Also apply a diaper rash ointment to the affected area to help with any discomfort.

    • 2

Give your child cold liquids, like water or diluted juice. The temperature of the liquid can help any mouth discomfort your child may be experiencing.

    • 3

If your child is older, you can give her ice cream, pudding and yogurt. These cool foods are easy to swallow and won't cause huge amounts of mouth discomfort.

    • 4

Give your child a pain reliever. If your child has a sore throat or mouth pain, a pain reliever will help ease the pain.

    • 5

Give your child medication prescribed by a doctor. In the event that the above steps don't work or your child's doctor feels medication is necessary, the doctor may prescribe an anti-fungal medication that can be applied topically or taken orally.
