Nintendogs is a game for Gameboy DS, which allows players to care for digital pet dogs with food, water, exercise, sleep and love, just as they'd care for a real dog. Teaching a Nintendog new tricks is part of the appeal of the Nintendogs video game. The training manual that comes with the game tells you how to teach your dog a lot of tricks, but there are some tricks that can't be found in the training manual, such as teaching your dog to do a handstand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Establish a strong bond with your dog. The dog should be attached to you and respect and love you as its owner. For this reason, you should wait at least a few days before attempting to have your dog perform this trick.

  2. Step 2

Feed and water your dog until the food and water status reads "full and quenched." Nintendogs perform tricks better when they are not hungry or thirsty.

  3. Step 3

Call your dog to you, and pet it until it is calm and still.

  4. Step 4

Give your dog the command for "Lie down." Practice this command several times. Your dog should be able to lie down and stay in this position for at least 10 seconds at a time before you attempt to have him stand on his head.

  5. Step 5

Allow your dog to move around and play for a few minutes.

  6. Step 6

Calm your dog down again by petting her until she is calm and still.

  7. Step 7

Give your dog the command for "beg." Practice this command several times, until your dog has mastered it, and is able to beg for at least 10 seconds without breaking the command.

  8. Step 8

Allow your dog to rest for a few minutes. Feed and water once again, if enough time has elapsed and your dog's status is showing hungry or thirsty.

  9. Step 9

Give your dog the "lie down" command. After your dog has held this command for a few seconds, tell your dog to "beg," without releasing him from the "lie down" command. This combination of commands, coupled with the fact that your dog has mastered both of the individual commands, will result in your Nintendog dog doing a handstand.

  10. Step 10

Tap on the light bulb to give this handstand command a name.

  11. Step 11

Give your dog praise and attention for performing this command.
