A tape dispenser is a useful office supply that allows you to access the tape you need at a moment's notice. Many office workers keep a tape dispenser handy on their desks at all times to have tape at their fingertips anytime they need it. A tape dispenser holds a roll of tape and rotates the roll as the user pulls a piece of tape off.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape dispenser loaded with a roll of tape
  1. Step 1

Place your finger on the sticky underside of the tape that's exposed on the roll.

  2. Step 2

Lift the tape up and pull the tape away from the roll. Pull out as long of a piece of tape as you need for whatever it is you'll be taping.

  3. Step 3

Lower the tape down onto the razor part of the tape dispenser. Make sure you have as long of a piece as you need. Having too long of a piece can also be a problem, as your tape may overlap parts of what your taping that you don't actually want taped.

  4. Step 4

Cut the tape with the razor by pulling the tape down. The razor will automatically cut the tape.

  5. Step 5

Hold the piece of tape with two hands, if the piece is long. A long piece of tape has been known to flop around and tape to things you don't want it to. If you hold the long piece of tape with one finger on one end and a finger on the other hand on the other end, you can manipulate your freshly cut piece of tape with ease.
