How to Sew Men's Dress Slacks

Dress slacks can be worn in a many situations. For example, you can pair it with a polo shirt for a business casual look, or wear a button down shirt and tie for formal events. However you choose to wear them, you need the right fit. Follow these steps.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Pick out a pants pattern that suits the look you are after. Be sure to check that the pattern is in your size range.

  2. Step 2

    Using the pattern guidelines, choose a fabric. Purchase any extras needed, such as zippers, buttons or clasps.

  3. Step 3

    Cut the pattern for the size you need. Press the pattern with a low-temperature iron. This will smooth out kinks in the pattern.

  4. Step 4

    Pin the pattern to your fabric, and make sure to follow pattern guidelines.

  5. Step 5

    Sew the fabric pieces, always following the pattern directions.
