Instructions

  1. Bonding Hair Extensions

    • 1

Wash your hair with shampoo, rinse it thoroughly, and allow it to dry naturally.

    • 2

Confirm that you are happy with the hairstyle you have decided upon and how the hair wefts you have purchased need to be applied in order to achieve that style.

    • 3

Part your hair along the natural hair line at the back of your head. Braid the small section you have created and move it off to the side so that it is not in your way.

    • 4

Make a second part in your hair, horizontally from ear to ear. Place the hair that remains above the part in a ponytail or braid and move it out of the way.

    • 5

Cut your hair wefts so that they fit along the part you have just created from ear to ear. Make the wefts slightly smaller than your actual part so that the ends do not show.

    • 6

Apply small droplets of your preferred bonding glue along the edges of the hair weft and wait until it becomes tacky, but not dry.

    • 7

Apply the hair weft to your parted hair as close to the scalp as possible without actually gluing it to the scalp itself.

    • 8

Use a blow dryer to heat seal the bond by moving it back and forth over the hair weft for 15-20 seconds.

    • 9

Remove the ponytail, make a new part above the old one, and put the remaining hair above the part in a new ponytail and move it out of the way.

    • 10

Repeat the process outlined in steps 5-9 until you have added the desired number of layers to your hair.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use only a professional hair bond dissolver when you are ready to remove your hair wefts.

  • Do not use conditioner when you wash your hair (before or after application) because it will weaken the bonding agent. Do not use the blow dryer longer than needed. It will quickly dry the bonds but overuse will cause you to burn your scalp. Never leave hair extensions in your hair longer than 4-6 weeks.
