Weigh the nylon item you want to dye. The ratio of powder dye to the weight of clothing capable of dying is 1 oz. of dye to 6 lbs. of a material. So use your scale to weigh your nylon item(s). Divide this weight by six, and this will give you how many ounces of dye powder you will need.
