How to Wear a Scarf Around Your Lapel

Trends are always changing, but the fashion accessory of scarves around the neck or jacket lapel never goes out of style. One fashionable way to wear a scarf is to wrap it around the lapel of your suit jacket and securing it to provide a clean and classic look.

Things You'll Need

• Colorful or patterned scarf, about 24 inches long

Instructions

1. Place the scarf around you neck so each end hangs evenly over your shoulders down to your chest. Tuck the back of the scarf underneath the lapel so it is between your neck and the jacket.

2. Take the left end of the scarf and wrap it around the right end once, then tuck it behind it, such as you tie a shoelace. The left end should be hanging out over the right end now.

3. Tighten the scarf ends together to bring the crossed part to the place you want it to rest, whether it is above the first button or closer to your throat. Lay the two ends of the scarves on top of each other flat.

4. Fold the two flattened ends underneath themselves, such as you fold a business card in half. Use the pin to secure the folded ends up and together, and then stick the pin through the next layer of fabric to keep the scarf up by the lapel edges. Fluff as needed and position the scarf as desired.
