  1. How to Make a Custom Picture Frame

    • 1

Pick the photo you are going to put in the picture frame. This is the most important step, because the photo is what you will use to customize the frame.

    • 2

Purchase materials at your local craft-supply store. Buy a plain, solid-colored picture frame that is the same size as the picture you are going to put in it. While you are there, buy things that are unique to the picture. Is it at the beach? Is it at a party? Is there someone in the photo with you? Buy buttons or lace or ribbon or letters or anything else you can attach to make the photo frame your own.

    • 3

Wipe the frame before you start assembling, to make sure it is clean and dry when you start.

    • 4

Glue the extras to the frame. If you want to paint the frame, this is the step you do it. If you don't want to paint the frame, attach the craft supplies you chose while at the store, use markers to write on the frame or do whatever you wish. This step is all about you taking a blank canvas and making it your own. Whatever you do, let the frame dry 24 hours before use.

    • 5

Insert the picture. You are done.

Tips & Warnings

  • Let the glue dry for 24 hours.

  • Watch for smudging or movement due to wet glue.
