Curves is a fitness franchise that offers a complete workout for women in 30 minutes. Curves has become one of the most popular franchises on the market, making it an attractive business opportunity.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which type of Curves franchise you want to purchase. You can purchase an existing Curves business from the current owner, or a new Curves franchise directly from the company.

  2. Step 2

Decide where you would like to buy a Curves franchise and research the availability in your area (see Resources).

  3. Step 3

If a franchise opportunity in your area is not available through Curves, contact the individual owners of existing Curves and find out if they are interested in selling.

  4. Step 4

Determine if you have adequate funds to purchase a Curves. The price of a Curves franchise varies from country to country. As of April, 2009, the price for a Curves franchise in the United States (purchased directly from the company) was $29,000. There are additional fees for utilities, lease, training, computers and advertising costs. If you are buying an existing Curves location, you will have to negotiate the price with the current owners.

  5. Step 5

Factor in franchise royalties and advertising fees that you will have to pay the company. In April, 2009, Curves charged 5% of gross revenue for franchise royalties and 3% of gross revenue for advertising fees.

Tips & Warnings
