Duvet covers are a great way to keep comforters or duvets clean. Since covers can easily cost more than $100, it's a good idea to take care of them and avoid washing them as much as possible. Duvet covers can be easily removed and cleaned, without risking damage to the comforter or duvet. Covers also provide a convenient way to coordinate colors with the rest of your room, and can be changed based on the season or on a simple whim. Filling the duvet cover can sometimes be a challenge, but the below steps make it a straightforward process.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Duvet cover
  • Comforter or duvet
  • A raised bed or tall chair
  1. Step 1

Unfold the duvet cover so that the zipper or button opening is facing up.

  2. Step 2

Stand on the ground next to the raised bed or tall chair and hold one corner of the duvet cover up off the ground at about knee level.

  3. Step 3

Have one other person hold the other corner of the duvet cover across from you, next to the bed with the opening still facing upwards.

  4. Step 4

Have a third person stand on the bed with the comforter or duvet.

  5. Step 5

Hold the duvet cover open, still at knee level, with the other person standing on the floor while the person standing on the bed lowers the duvet or comforter into the opening.

  6. Step 6

Stand and raise the duvet cover to the top of the duvet or comforter.

  7. Step 7

Have the person at the top of the bed take hold of the top of the duvet cover and match it with the top of the duvet or comforter, holding both in place.

  8. Step 8

Button or zip the duvet cover and place it on the bed with the opening facing towards the bottom of the bed.
