How to Make a Beaded Grandmother's Bracelet
A grandmother's bracelet is a thoughtful way to acknowledge your mother or grandmother and her role in the life of you or your children. - Stainless steel stringing cable
- Ruler
- Toggle clasp
- Crimp tubes
- Beads, including birthstones or letters to create names
- Wire cutters
- Pliers
- Piece of masking tape

Cut a 10-inch piece of stringing cable with wire cutters. This piece will be longer than needed for your bracelet, but it gives you room to work. The extra will be removed at the end.

Create a design for your Grandmother's Bracelet. Lay your beads out against the ruler until you reach the proper length. The beadwork should be about 1 inch shorter than the diameter of the wrist of the person who will wear it. If you don't have the exact size, it's better to make it too big than too small.

Add beads to the cable. As you string the beads on one end, you can keep them from sliding off the other end of the cable by wrapping tape around the end. When you have completed your beading and you are sure you are happy with your design, add two crimp tubes to each end. Remove the last bead from each end, string one crimp tube and place the last bead back into place before stringing the second crimp tube on each end.

Add the toggle clasp to the bracelet. Loop one end of the stringing cable through each piece of the clasp and thread the cable back through the crimp tube on the end, the last bead on each end, and the second crimp tube. Tighten the two crimp tubes on each end to the cable with pliers.

Cut off the extra cable. If you are pleased with the design of your bracelet, snip off the extra cable with the wire cutters.
