The Literary Guild Book Club is one of the oldest and most popular mail order book clubs. The Literary Guild features best-selling authors and their latest books on a wide variety of subjects for up to 50 percent off the "publisher's edition" price. The easiest method of joining the Literary Guild Book Club is to go to their website (see Resources).

      Pick the books you want to order. For new customers, you can get five books for 99 cents plus shipping and handling of $13.70, for a total of $14.69. On the site, you can search for your favorite books by subject or author. As a club member, you are require to purchase as least four books at club prices plus shipping over the next 2 years.

      Providing billing and shipping information. Your name, mailing address and email address are required. A telephone number is optional. While in the club, members can choose how they would like to receive information on future book club offerings, either by email or by The Literary Guild catalog through the mail.

      Enter your credit card information when asked to secure the purchase. Click on "Enrollment complete" and your books are on their way.

Tips & Warnings

  • A the time of enrollment, you can order a sixth book for $5.99 plus shipping and would be obligated to buy only three more books in 2 years instead of four books.

  • If you are ordering over $25 worth of books at one time, sites that offer free shipping might be a better value for the money.
