How to Convert MPG to IFO, VOB or BUP
MPG, or MPEG-1, is a video-compression method that allows video and audio files to be shrunk considerably. The downside to this is that some of the quality is lost in the files during compression. IFO, VOB and BUP files are information files that are associated with DVDs. Each file type carries a different type of track on a DVD. IFO files carry the subtitles, as well as audio tracks. VOB files carry a streaming menu. BUP files are a backup of the IFO file with some added information.

These include the Xilisoft MPEG-to-DVD Converter, Amor AVI DivX MPEG-to-VCD DVD Creator and Ultra MPEG Converter. All of these applications convert MPG videos to DVD files. The Xilisoft and Amor programs burn the converted file. This means you only have the option to convert and burn at the same time. (See Resources for links.)
