Chrome shower heads make your shower look clean and neat. The chrome finish on the heads also prevents rust and generally cuts down on the amount of wear and tear your shower head will see due to day-to-day use. However, chrome shower heads can still get dirty with muck, grime and soap scum. The shower head will need frequent cleaning. CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover, Simple Green Clean Building Bathroom Cleaner or Genuine Joe Ready-to-Use Bathroom Detergent are available from local stores. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Fill the plastic container with 1 quarter of hot water. Add approximately 2 quarts of cleaner. Mix with the cloth or a bath brush.

    • 2

Hold the container up to the shower head. Submerge the shower head in the mixture. Wait roughly 6 minutes. This will loosen any clogged holes in the shower.

    • 3

Dunk the cloth into the plastic container. Pour a capful of the bathroom cleaner on the rag. Spread evenly over the rag by rubbing together.

    • 4

Use the cloth to wash the back of the shower connector. Then scrub the shower head vigorously to remove the soap scum and hard water minerals.

    • 5

Repeat Steps 2 to 4, if grime or clogs persist.

Tips & Warnings

  • If a cloth along with the cleaner does not work properly, use a soft bristle brush. Carefully scrub the chrome shower head without scratching or damaging the fixture.
