Make Wedding Flowers

With so many different wedding flower arrangements to choose from, you are certain to put together a flower bouquet that is just right for you. The colors of the flowers you choose will say a lot about the type of wedding you plan. The theme and the feel of the wedding will vary depending on the wedding flowers. An all white flower arrangement will create a different atmosphere than a flower arrangement full of pastels or fall colors. Decide on the tone of the wedding before you choose your wedding colors. Purple flowers depict relaxation. Yellow and orange flowers are more upbeat. Here are some helpful guidelines.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather together a group of wedding flowers that depict the tone of your wedding. Colors for summer include pinks, light blues and white. Fall colors include flowers in shades of oranges, yellows and red.

    • 2

Determine the look of your wedding flowers before making a purchase. Popular types of wedding flowers include calla lilies, dahlias, daisies, chrysanthemums and orchids.

    • 3

Include some baby's breath and greenery for the wedding flower bouquet. Other flower arrangement fillers include cherry blossoms and leathery leaf.

    • 4

Cut the flowers leaving stems at least 6 inches long. Group the flowers in an eye catching arrangement. Place a few stems of baby's breath within the flowers and some greenery around the outside.

    • 5

Hold the stems together and tape them tightly with green floral tape. Wrap the tape around the stems all the way up to the base of the flowers. Cover the entire stem area.

    • 6

Wrap a satin ribbon around the floral tape to hide the green. Choose a color of ribbon that complements the shades of your wedding flowers. A pastel arrangement looks nice with a pink ribbon. An all white arrangement looks best with a white ribbon.

    • 7

Place a few dots of Krazy Glue on the end of the ribbon to hold it in place. Glue the end of the ribbon to itself.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that the flowers are secured tightly together. When the wedding bouquet is thrown, you do not want it to fall apart.
