How to Measure Golf Clubs for Women

Choosing the right club may mean the difference between loving your new hobby and quickly giving it up. Most women between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9 can use standard-sized clubs. If you have long arms, however, you'll need shorter clubs. Regardless of height, it is best to measure yourself to determine your optimal club length.

Instructions

    • 1

Stand up straight with your feet hip-width apart and your arms relaxed at your sides.

    • 2

If you are right-handed, have a friend measure from your left wrist to the floor. If you are a lefty, measure the opposite side.

    • 3

Compare your measurement (which should be around 30 to 35 inches) to a conversion chart. Determine how much longer or shorter your clubs should be from standard length. This may vary depending on the brand of clubs, as there are different definitions of "standard length".

Visit the Pine Meadow Golf website and use their custom-fitting wizard to determine your adjustment length (see Resources).

Tips & Warnings

  • Women under 5-foot-5 should use a 33-inch putter.
