How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner to the Bottom Eyelid
While a clean, strong line of liquid eyeliner on the top eyelids is a sophisticated look night or day, it sometimes can appear hard and unforgiving on the bottom eyelids. But if you follow the techniques makeup artists themselves use as outlined here, your eyes will be highlighted with a soft and smoky look you'll love. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Prep the under eye by blending a dot of oil-free moisturizer on the area to get rid of any dry patches and to soften skin. After the moisturizer absorbs, apply foundation as usual to create a clean canvas for liquid eyeliner on the bottom eyelid. Dust translucent powder over the foundation to the set base.

Lightly dip the bristles of the small, stiff angled brush into the waterproof liquid eyeliner. Gently smudge the eyeliner onto the base of your bottom lash line, beginning at the outer corner, making your way toward the inner corner of the eye. Most women will want to stop about midway to avoid making their eyes appear smaller.

Use a cotton swab or eye smudge brush to soften the eyeliner application before the liner dries. This will help create a smoky effect. Leaving the liquid eyeliner unsmudged is what gives eye makeup a harsh and bottom-heavy look.
