1
Melt the butter in a large sauce pan on low heat. You can also melt the butter in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl.
-
2
Pour 3 cups of confectioners sugar into a large bowl and add the melted butter. Stir until smooth and add the peanut butter, vanilla and milk. Mix the contents of the bowl together and add the rest of the sugar. The mixture will become crumbly, so use your hands to mix it together.

3
Line the cookie sheet with waxed paper. Next, roll the peanut butter mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the cookie sheet. You can make the peanut butter balls bigger or smaller if you want.
-
4
Stick the peanut butter ball-filled cookie sheet into the freezer for about 30 minutes so they chill completely.
-
5
Fill a large sauce pan with about 2 inches of water and heat on the stove at low heat. Place a smaller sauce pan in the water-filled pan and add the chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate chips are melted, then remove from the burner. Let cool slightly. You can also melt the chocolate in the microwave. Set at 30 seconds, stir and keep repeating until melted.
-
6
Take out the chilled candy and insert a toothpick in one of the balls. Dip the peanut butter ball into the chocolate until it's 75 percent covered in chocolate. The chocolate-covered peanut butter ball should look like a buckeye. Set it back on the cookie sheet with the plain side facing up to dry. You can dip the balls twice in the chocolate for double the sweetness.
-
7
Repeat Step 6 for the rest of the peanut butter balls. Chill until the chocolate solidifies and then serve. You can store them in the fridge.
