A car payment is one of the most important bills that must be paid each month. Car payments need to be paid on time, so knowing how to make your car payments is very important. Ways to Pay Your Car Payment

  1. Step 1

Set up automatic withdrawal for each monthly car payment. Provide the bank with your bank account information so that the car payment can be withdrawn each month automatically. When payment is automatically withdrawn, there is no risk of forgetting to make your car payments.

  2. Step 2

Write a check and mail it in a week before your car payment is due. This will allow enough time for the check to get to its destination. To avoid delay, be sure to have all the necessary information written on your check.

  3. Step 3

Create an online account using your banking account or other form of payment method. Each month all you need to do is log into your account and pay your bill using the information that is already stored in the system.

  4. Step 4

Make payments over the phone. You can either use the automated system to make the payment or speak to a customer service representative. Often, a fee is charged for making payments by telephone.

  5. Step 5

Use a credit card to make your car payments. Most lenders accept credit card payments, by phone or online. This could be more expensive, because you will pay additional finance charges if you don't pay your credit card bill in full each month.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're using automatic withdrawal, always make sure you have enough money in your bank account so you don't get hit with late fees or overdrawn fees.
  • If you are not able to make your car payments on time, notify your bank.
