How to Make Wallpaper a Screensaver
The Windows operating system comes with several wallpaper options. You may want to use these images as a desktop screensaver. You might also want to use images from your personal image library as your screensaver. Turning an image into a screensaver is a straightforward process once you locate the image. You can use any wallpaper image as a screensaver with the correct settings.

Create a folder where you will store the image or images that you want to use as your screensaver. Note its location.

Locate the wallpaper image you want to turn into a screensaver. In Windows XP, the default wallpaper images are located in the file C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper. If you saved a different image to use as wallpaper, it will be located in either C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\PhotoGallery or c:\documents and settings\user name\App data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.

Move the desired images into the folder you created.

Right-click on a blank area on your desktop, and click on "Properties" on the drop-down menu that appears.

Click on the "Screen Saver" tab.

Open the drop-down menu and choose "My Pictures Slideshow."

Click the "Settings" button, then the "Browse" button, and browse to the folder you created to store you screensaver images. Change any other settings you wish to in this options window.

Hit "OK" to close the Settings window, then "Preview" so you can make sure that your screensaver will appear the way you want.

Click "Apply" to accept the change, and then "OK" to close the Display Properties box.

Tips & Warnings
You can also just direct your screensaver settings to your wallpaper folder if you want to use all of the images there as your screensaver.
