How to Use Apple Peelers, Corers & Slicers
A crisp apple can be the perfect midday snack or an ingredient in a variety of sweet and savory dishes. While peeling, coring and slicing an apple by hand can be time-consuming and tedious, there are appliances that do all three tasks at once. These simple-to-use devices save time and energy, and make for uniformly cut apples that beg to be eaten. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Mount the apple peeler, corer and slicer to a table or countertop, tightening it to the surface of the counter or table by cranking the bottom handle. (Stand-alone cast iron versions of the device do not need to be mounted before use.)
-
2
Pull back the handle and place an apple onto the three-pronged fork of the corer/peeler/slicer, bottom-side down.
-
-
3
Turn the handle to begin coring the apple. The top of the apple should quickly reach the peeling and slicing mechanism at the end of the machine.
-
4
Continue to turn the handle to simultaneously peel and slice the apple. Once the piece of fruit is fully peeled and sliced, pull the remaining pieces of the apple off of the fork prongs. The apple should be sliced but still connected, like an accordion.
-
5
Remove the apple core from the prongs and repeat the above steps with as many more apples as desired.
-
6
Rinse the apple peeler corer and slicer with water after use and let it soak for a few minutes or more in hot soapy water. Then rinse again and towel off or air-dry.

Tips & Warnings
An apple peeler, corer and slicer also works well on potatoes, yams and turnips. If you only want to peel, you can get rid of the coring and slicing elements by loosening the wing nut to remove the blade. You can also drop the coring slicing blade to peel whole apples, then cut in any size you desire for recipes.
Do not allow children under 12 years old to use this device unsupervised as they could easily cut themselves on the sharp, pointed prongs or with the peeling and slicing blade.
