Instructions

    • 1

Choose your favorite cookie recipe, or refer to the recipe in the Resources section, and make the dough according to recipe directions. Consider chocolate chip, snickerdoodles or oatmeal raisin.

    • 2

Put six spoonfuls of the cookie dough on the baking sheet, spaced evenly apart. The best lollipop cookies are a bit larger than a standard homemade cookie, so use a heaping tablespoonful.

    • 3

Put a bit of butter over your fingers and shape the dough by hand. Press the stick into each pile of dough. Make the dough round in shape and press it down just a bit so that it makes contact with the stick.

    • 4

Bake the cookies at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes or for the amount of time your recipe states.

    • 5

Remove the baking sheet from the oven once the cookies are nicely browned. Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes.

    • 6

Carefully take the cookies off the baking sheet with a spatula while supporting the stick. Allow to rest on a wire rack until completely cooled.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once cooled, wrap your cookies in cellophane bags and decorate with a ribbon to make gifts.

  • Avoid having your cookies run together while baking. Place the cookies and sticks far enough apart. If your sheet is too small, make fewer than six cookies at a time.
