How to Wear a Mayan Baby Sling
Baby slings, like those modeled on the Mayan baby sling, are not a new concept. By holding your baby tight against you, the baby does not feel as separate from your body as they would in a stroller or other method of being carried. Pick up the Maya Baby Sling by the two rings and the tail. Drape the end with the two rings over your right arm. In your left hand, gather the tail end together so it is easy for you to handle.

Pull the tail through the two rings. Open the rings so there is a space about 4 inches between the two rings. Pull the tail end back through going over the first ring and under the second.

Hold the sling by the rings with the long tail hanging down in front of you. Put your arm through the loop made by the fabric and pull the sling over your head and onto your opposite shoulder so the sling. The ring should rest slightly on the front of your shoulder with the tail hanging down, the sling should be wrapped around your body and pass under your arm of the shoulder opposite the rings.

Adjust the amount of fabric going through the ring so you have enough fabric going across your body to form a "hammock." The hammock should just big enough to support your baby.

Pick up and cradle your baby with the arm opposite the sling rings. Tuck your baby into the hammock with their head against the arm you are holding them with. Pull the tail end until the hammock has tightened enough to firmly hold and support the baby.

Tips & Warnings
You can place your baby's head toward the rings or away, the direction will depend on what is more naturally comfortable for you to look down and at your baby.
Always make sure that your baby's face is not turned toward the fabric of the sling but is turned upward slightly for easy breathing.
