1
Hold up your guitar at a comfortable position, and have a friend measure around your shoulder from the bottom of the guitar to the strap hook on the guitar's neck.
-
2
Cut out a piece of fabric 1 inch longer than the measurement gathered in Step 1 and 6 inches wide.
-
-
3
Cut out two rounded pieces of leather, about 2 inches wide and 3 inches tall, and punch a hole in it large enough to fit onto the guitar's strap hooks.
-
4
Fold over and press 1/2 inch of fabric all around the guitar strap fabric, and fold the guitar strap fabric in half lengthwise. Pin and press the edge of the fabric.
-
5
Sew along the edge of the guitar strap, about 1/8 of an inch away from the edge, leaving the short ends open.
-
6
Insert the leather pieces into the short open ends of the guitar strap, so it is sandwiched between the pieces of fabric. Hold the leather pieces in place using paper clamps, and sew them down along the fabric edge. Do this on both sides.
