How to Remove Limewire Adware
Adware can be highly annoying and potentially dangerous. Adware is software that third-parties download to your computer, often without your knowledge, to cause advertisements to pop up on your computer repeatedly. This happens when you visit sites such as Limewire. Information about your computer is shared with other sites, which then send you constant advertisements. There's really no way to hide tracking information on your computer, so, the goal is to get rid of Limewire adware.

Disconnect your Internet service from your computer. Unplug the phone cord or the ethernet cable from the back of your computer. When you're not connected to the Internet, the adware cannot pop up. Leave it disconnected for now.

Click on "Control Panel," then on "Add or Remove Programs" and check to see if the Limewire adware is installed on your computer. Click on the Limewire adware software and click "Remove or Uninstall" to remove the program.

Uninstall Limewire completely from your computer if you continue to get unwanted Limewire adware. Find the Limewire software on Control Panel and then click "Add or Remove Programs." Select Limewire and click on "Remove or Uninstall."

Uninstall your current antivirus software: go to your Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs. Select your antivirus software program and click "Remove or Uninstall." Some antivirus software can actually carry virus potential. The new software should be able to block out this Limewire adware. Purchase a different antivirus software and install it on your computer.

Reboot your computer. Use your antivirus to scan for threats and viruses, as well as for the adware. Once it's been removed, restart the computer. If you unsubscribed to the adware or if you uninstalled the adware from the Control Panel, reboot. You should reboot after any permanent changes are made to your computer. This refreshes the computer and allows the command to take effect.
