Instructions

    • 1

Ascertain the cause of your neck rash. Often, neck rashes may be caused by detergents, lotions or soaps that irritate the skin. If you suspect this to be the case, stop using the product. If your neck rash is due to a sunburn, stay out of the sun for a few days. Neck rashes can also be due to bacteria or dirt irritating the skin.

    • 2

Cleanse your neck using an antibacterial cleanser. This will remove irritants that may be causing your neck rash. It will also remove bacteria that may be clogging your pores, thereby causing the rash.

    • 3

Apply hydrocortisone cream to your neck rash. This will soothe the skin and relieve itchiness. You can find hydrocortisone cream over the counter in most drugstores.

    • 4

Spread aloe vera gel over the rash. Aloe vera gel contains natural healing properties that help to soothe irritated skin. For additional relief, refrigerate the gel for 20 minutes before applying it to your neck.

    • 5

Place a cool compress on your neck. This will help to draw heat out of the skin and reduce redness. Leave the compress on the rash for about 10 minutes. Remove it for 10 minutes before reapplying it.

    • 6

Create a paste, mixing equal parts oatmeal and water. Apply the paste to your neck rash for approximately 20 minutes. Oatmeal nourishes the skin and relieves redness.

    • 7

Drink lots of water. Your neck rash will worsen if you are dehydrated. Aim to drink at least 64 oz. of water daily.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid hot water. It will dehydrate your skin and worsen your neck rash.

  • See your doctor if your neck rash doesn't clear up within 72 hours.
