How to Make a Child's Birthday Party Hat
Not only will this activity save money, it is also a great way to begin a child's birthday party. Kids love getting to create their hat and this is a simple activity easy for even the youngest child to complete. With just a few supplies it is easy to make a child's birthday party hat. Things You'll Need
- Construction paper in different colors
- Glue
- Decorations: glitter, stickers, collage materials etc.
- Scissors
- Clothespins
- Paper hole-punch tool
- Yarn

Turn a sheet of construction paper sideways so that the length will be the base of the hat and the height will be the height of the hat.

Draw a triangle on the paper and leave one inch along the base of the paper. The top point of the triangle should touch the top of the paper.

Draw a slightly curved line from one end of the base to the other. The ends of the curved line begin and end at the base of the triangle.

Cut out the triangle along the curved bottom line and the two straight sides.

Allow the children to decorate each hat with the decoration materials. Glitter, stickers, and cut-out numbers and letters work very well.

Place a line of glue down one of the straight sides and roll the child's birthday party hat into a cylinder. Hold hat together with clothespins until glue is dry. Engage kids in another activity while glue is drying.

Use the paper hole-punching tool to punch one hole on either side of the hat.

Tie a length of yarn to each hole that hold the hat to the child's head to finish the project.
