Instructions

1. Obtain an unlocked cell phone.

2. Sign up for cell phone service with your chosen service provider. This can be done online or at the carrier's store. Tell the salesperson that you do not need a cell phone with your contract.

3. Request a SIM card from your service provider.

4. Insert the SIM card into the phone and begin using your unlocked phone.

• If the contract you purchase offers a very inexpensive cellphone, you may want to go ahead and get it even though you don't need it. Having an extra cell phone can be handy.
