A men's accessory for outfits both formal and not so formal, the handkerchief is worn most often in the breast pocket. Whether for practical purposes or for looks, the pocket handkerchief is best worn with the right fold, and this takes only a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Handkerchief
  1. Step 1

Fold the handkerchief diagonally. The resulting shape should be a triangle with the base toward you and the tip pointing away from you.

  2. Step 2

Fold back only the top flap on your new triangle. Leave half of the handkerchief on the table and fold the top down so the point of the triangle touches the tip on the left.

  3. Step 3

Fold the remaining corner (the one on your right) over so that it reaches the tip of the original point on the left of the triangle. Your handkerchief will now look like the left half of the larger triangle that you started with.

  4. Step 4

Fold the top of this new triangle. The top should still be the original tip that is pointing away from you. Bring this corner down to the left, the same as the previous two folds.

  5. Step 5

Fold the leftover material inside of your four-layered triangle, and you will be left with a neat four-fold handkerchief, ready to put into your coat pocket.
