How to Burn Votive Candles
Votive candles are an inexpensive way to add style and scent to your home decor. Although many people will just light a candle and watch it burn, there are steps you need to take to make sure you get the most out of your votive candles. Does this Spark an idea?

Purchase a votive holder that is as close to the size of your votive candle as possible.

Put a small amount of water in the bottom of the votive holder. Place the votive candle in the container. This will allow you to easily remove the votive candle once it is no longer usable.

Trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch.

Light the candle and burn it for at least 1 hour, but not longer then 4 hours.

Wicks are designed to be self trimming, but occasionally they will become too short or too long. If the wick is too short, dump out some of the melted wax. If the wick is too long, extinguish the candle and trim the wick back down to 1/4 of an inch.

Tips & Warnings
To extinguish the votive candle, use a candle snuffer. Keep the candle away from drafts. Keep debris out of the candle.
Always burn votive candles in a candle holder. Never leave the candle unattended.
