Things You'll Need:
- Dishrag (or paper towels)
- Soapy water
-
Step 1
Check the inside of your oven to make sure there is nothing in there that can ignite. Large pieces of food on the bottom of the oven as well as pans or cutting boards left inside ovens during the self-cleaning feature can catch fire and need to be removed.
-
Step 2
Turn the oven on the self-clean mode. The light will come on indicating it is in the self-cleaning mode, and the door will lock.
-
Step 3
Open the oven when the self-clean is finished.
-
Step 4
Using a dishrag that has been soaked in soapy water, wipe all the surfaces inside the oven.
-
Step 5
Rinse the dishrag and continue wiping until no traces of food remain.
