According to the International Nail Technician Association, you must remove the screen or any other removable parts for the pedicure tub basin and scrub with a brush and warm, soapy water. Use a bucket of soapy water instead of filling the tub. This will allow you to get to all the parts without difficulty.

Fill the foot tub with clean, warm soapy water. Allow the water to circulate for about 5 minutes. This will soften any residue inside the foot tub. A cleaning detergent may also be used instead of soap.
